PRACTICE GUIDE · 28 OCTOBER 2026
Make room.
Keep the ground rules.
Reflow is a single-day scheduling prototype. It lets you explore what can move, explain the trade-offs and role-play the people affected. It does not send messages or change anyone’s real calendar.
Three kinds of time
- Fixed commitment: cannot move.
- Movable meeting: can move within its window, with a higher movement cost.
- Flexible task: can move within its window at a lower movement cost.
Try the example day
- Open “A busy workday” and request a 60-minute event.
- Keep equal and higher priorities protected for the first attempt.
- Compare the proposed calendar with the unchanged current plan.
- Preview notifications and act as each fictional participant.
- Try a counter-request, then review and approve the new revision before applying it.
What a no-fit result means
The requested event may not fit within the day’s fixed events, durations, windows and protected priorities. Change only the rules you are actually willing to change. A search-limit message means the search stopped before proving the lowest-cost answer.
Know the limits
The current engine uses a 09:00–18:00 day, a 15-minute grid, at most 12 total events and a 250,000-node search limit. Its movement score is a comparison rule, not money or a measured human burden.
Keep a copy
The planner saves locally in the current browser. Export JSON before clearing storage or moving devices. Notification previews and role-play approvals are session state. Cloudflare measures page visits and performance; the planner does not send your event contents.
